Review of the Official Trailer for The Diary of West Bengal

This movie is based on a real-life incident. The Bangladeshi infiltrated West Bengal and set up their stronghold. They marry a Hindi girl and turn her into an Islamic girl. This movie explains how some people make fake documents and live in the West Bengal and Assam areas. At the very threshold, let me warn the readers about ‘The Diary of West Bengal,’ and I am not talking about the way it embraces our sense organs, delightfully. This is quite an abusive movie that will make one feel that the time it takes to watch this cracking lengthy 135-minute movie is a total waste of time.

  • Subpar Performances: It will be significant to note that the cast fails to leave a lasting impression. Arshin Mehta tries to put a little effort into the character Suhasini but all in vain. Atik/Prateek played by Yajur Marwah is quite expressionless and fails to display any feelings. This is something that will always make one cringe, and this is enhanced by the pathetic dialogue of the characters.
  • Inconsistent Screenplay: One can write volumes and volumes of clear violations of the rules and gross discrepancies that are evident. For example, a reporter suddenly gets into an anchor position because of a story break. Such inaccuracies are rather defocusing in the context of the whole movie.
  • Political Message Lost: Thus, although the movie attempts to have an explicit political message, the plot is rather cliché. The audience is left feeling empty and angry asking themselves how it got to the theatres in the first place.
